Tonight’s new moon strongly highlights the themes of family, roots, and cultural lineage. It’s a time of reconnection with our ancestors, heritage, and inner child.

New Moons usually represent beginnings. They are for planting seeds and setting intentions for our dreams, goals, and wishes. This new moon, however, is the second in a rare occurrence of consecutive new moons in Cancer.   We can look at it as doubling down on the intentions we consciously or subconsciously set back during the June 21 new moon solar eclipse. This particular new moon is less about new beginnings than it is about bringing things to an end. This new moon commences a cycle of completion so we can use it to our advantage

The watery sign of Cancer can have you feeling emotional, sensitive, and frustrated. You know there is so much you want to make happen and yet you are overwhelmed by all that you are feeling. Your intuition is telling you that you can create and make changes, but your habits and patterns are having you feeling blocked and unable to commit to the changes. You are being directed to reflect upon your biggest desires and the emotions you must feel and process to receive the gifts of the universe.  

There's no disputing that 2020 has been incredibly emotional for every human being to say the least. And ever since Cancer season kicked off feelings have been flowing in every direction. Some were as intense as multiple tsunamis while others spilled out from cracks we didn't even realize that we had in our armor. It didn't help matters that Mercury was retrograde—also in Cancer—from June 18 to July 12, forcing us to sit down and process whatever was churning within. But, what was it…exactly?

The double new moon is reminding us how beautiful life is when rooted with Cancer energies such as emotional awareness, soulfulness, love, intuition, connection, and compassion.  It is another reminder to realign your pace and purpose with one that nourishes your soul.

Life has been gently coaxing us forward to fully realize and share our gifts with the world.  We wouldn’t be here tonight if we weren’t ready or brave or strong enough to shine our light.  We have everything we need.
