Courtney Clifford is a transformational leadership coach and group facilitator for an impressive array of corporate clients, including Porsche North America, where she currently consults. Courtney is a friend and a lady who inspires me daily while also epitomizing the Woo-Woo Working Woman. Every time I check in with Courtney she’s in between clients, taking a new certification course, finishing up her daily kundalini kriya practices, or taking time for wellness through regular acupuncture. Her purpose of serving others and continuous self evolvement radiates from her as does her flawless skin and enviable cheekbones. It’s not surprising that she’s also a model.
In all sincerity, Courtney is the one I call whenever I am having an epic meltdown. She has the most beautiful grounding energy and ability to act as an energetic beacon pulling me back into safer emotional waters. She continually keeps me in awe of how she seamlessly and gracefully balances her career, wellness, and spirituality while still always having time to make her girlfriends roar with laughter.
What is your secret to living a high-vibrancy life?
Kundalini Yoga and Meditation. These practices allow me to empty my mind, elevate, and regulate my nervous system.
Who is a woo-woo working woman that you admire and why?
Eileen Fisher. She has redefined leadership within the fashion business as a female CEO, lives by her values, and nurtures her employees to grow. She started the Eileen Fisher Leadership Institute to support young women in becoming next-generation leaders. She is attuned to her purpose, and giving back. I find that so inspiring
How do you balance work, wellness, and spirituality?
I don't balance, I bring wellness and spirituality into my work. Be that working a 16-hour day of group facilitation for a corporate client or coaching one-on-one with individuals virtually. When I am completely focused on who I am serving in any given moment I receive energy. My daily meditation practice is the foundation for me having the capacity to be at peace even in the most chaotic work moments!
What is the best professional feedback you’ve ever received?
My teacher Guru Dharam gave me this advice in response to me feeling like I didn't "fit in". I was grappling between two identities; my spiritual self and my professional self. He said, "I fit in with myself therefore I fit in everywhere I go". This was a profound moment of realization for me. When I am connected to my truth everything aligns, this has changed all areas of my life both personally and professionally.
Are there any professional skills or life behaviors you wish you’d developed or learned earlier that are essential to your success now?
Daily practice is the foundation. Showing up for yourself every day no matter how resistant you are is life-changing, I wish I had this as a young adult.
How does a woman find professional mentors that align with her purpose and values?
First, you have to be clear on your purpose and values. That is the foundation of every coaching session I have with a new client. When you are clear on what your values are you become aware of who you interact with. I believe when we are living our values the people (teachers) we need most show up in our lives.
Was there any one significant event that moved you onto the path of becoming the woman you are today?
It has been a long journey with many challenges along the way. I would say during the beginning of my creative career, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease. The stillness I found during treatment led to the realization that I didn't want a career dependent on how I looked. Instead, I valued a career where I could serve. Since that time there were many challenges that knocked me down when I wasn't in alignment with my truth. This built a lot of depth of understanding of myself and others and resiliency that I lean on today when things get rough. I look back on how I have moved through all that up until now.

The metaphysical world. I have been a sponge for learning since I was a child and I have always been fascinated by spirituality.

Music. It can instantly change my mood and ignite creativity
Do you have any routines or rituals that help you stay focused and grounded?
Daily practice of Kundalini Meditation. This can range from 11 minutes to 2 1/2 hours depending upon what I am working on. This is non-negotiable for me. If I commit to a 40, 90, 120-day meditation I see it through no matter where I am traveling, or what time I am done with work. I also use prompted journal writing and long walks to ground myself daily.
